In-house project

1963½ Ford Galaxie Fastback

Red 1963½ Ford Galaxie fastback, registration BOF 81A, parked on Chapel Lane, seen from the front three-quarter

Overview

Bought as a stop-gap, so there is a Galaxie to take to the shows in 2026 while the convertible is being restored. The new doors came included in the deal, and the main job has been to paint them and fit them.

The exhaust is tucked up higher for better road clearance, the bonnet release emblem has been renewed, and the wheels are painted to match the gold in the ‘500’ badge on the front wing. Still to do: fit a modified front lower arm pivot bolt, to cure the bump steer caused by the original offset bolt.
